The dynamic twisted building mass of the sports hall creates the illusion of movement and establishes a symbolic connection with the sport facilities hosted by the building itself. The internal layout however remains orthogonal, only the outer second skin rotates around the fixed layout.
The stainless steel cladding is articulated in a way that it provides solution for ground floor openings, intuitive wayfinding and shading with a simple gesture. The internal and folding parts of the facade skin is cladded with copper to provide contrast and warmth, thus inviting visitors into the complex.

SPORTSHALL & AQUATIC CENTRE
The uniform facade design language gives the buildings a clean appearance. At the same time it provides shade, limits visibility and provides a sufficient amount of light where necessary. The steel-copper facade is considered a sustainable cladding solution thanks to its extraordinary lifespan and almost total reusability.
